How to Get Here:
Ferries arrive daily from Phuket, Krabi, and Phang Nga. Getting here from Phuket is the most convenient—there are several boats a day.
NOTE: The ferry schedule changes often and sometimes is dependent upon the tide. Feel free to contact us about updated ferry schedule.
From Phuket:
Local buses leave from the fresh market in Phuket Town to Bang Rong Pier everyday from 9:00am. to 1:00pm. You can hire a taxi from anywhere on Phuket, From the Heroines Monument, take route 4027 east. Turn right at the sign for Bang Rong (or Bangrong). Boats leave Bang Rong Pier for Koh Yao Noi (usually stopping briefly to unload passengers at Koh Yao Yai) every day at: 9:30am, 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm, 5:00pm and 5:45pm. You can hire a private boat from Bang Rong to take you to Koh Yao if you arrive at the pier and don’t want to wait for the next ferry. If you are coming from the airport, you can take a taxi from the airport to Bang Rong pier. Allow 30 minutes for the trip. Boats from Phuket arrive at Tha Manok pier (or occasionally Suka pier). Tuk tuks will be waiting to meet the ferry.
From Krabi:
Local buses leave from near the Vogue Department Store in Krabi Town to Thalen Pier at 10am and 12pm. Boats leave Thalen Pier for KYN everyday at 11:00, 1:00 and 5:00. The 1pm boat docks in Baan Tha Khao. From Ao Nang, it is possible to rent a taxi to take you to Ao Thalen. Allow 45 minutes for the trip. Boats from Krabi arrive in Tha Khao. This is also where The Mountain Shop is located, and from where boats leave to go to the climbing area.
From Phang Nga:
Local buses leave from the Phang Nga bus station to Thadan Pier at 11am. The boat leaves the pier for KYN at 1pm.
From Tonsai/Railay/Ao Nang:
Catch the speedboat ferry on West Railay (10:30) or in Ao Nang at the north end of Nopparathara Beach (11;00). This boat brings you to Tha Makok Pier; take a tuk tuk (100 baht per person) to Baan Tha Khao.
Or, take a taxi from Ao Nang to Ao Thalen (see Krabi section above).
You can also rent a private longtail boat from Tonsai/Railay/Ao Nang direct to Koh Yao Noi.
The Mountain Shop is located in Baan Tha Khao (Tha Khao village), inside the Sea Gypsy Restaurant.
